Two people have been arrested for allegedly planning a terrorist attack during Pride in London.

The weekend saw the UK capital celebrate the LGBTQ community with the annual Pride parade but according to The Sun, a 28-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were planning a terrorist attack with knives and a car.

During an investigation by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, the two people were arrested after a car was stopped in Luton on Wednesday (July 3).

Both were arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and they were taken into police custody.

As part of the investigation, police also searched a residential address and a commercial premise in Luton.
