Troye Sivan talks about his first on-screen gay kiss

By Troy Nankervis

Australian actor, singer and Youtube star Troye Sivan has spoken of his first gay kiss on camera and the gay story arc that underscores three of the songs on his new album Blue Neighbourhood.

Directed by Tim Mattia, the video clips to Wild, Fools and Talk Me Down chart the relationship of two gay men, who first begin as childhood companions, before embarking on a teenage love affair, until one of the men tragically takes his own life, reports Contact Music.

Sivan said he had never listened to the songs in any particular order before. “You see a little girl and a little boy holding hands and everyone’s like, ‘aw, sweet,’” he said.

“When are you guys going to get married?’ I wanted to show that for young LGBT kids.”

Playing opposite actor Matthew Eriksson, the 20-year-old star of X Men Origins: Wolverine added it was the first time he had made out with a guy on screen. “I’d actually done it before with girls,” he said.

“It was my first time kissing a guy on screen. We had been friends on Facebook for a really long time but we had never met in person.

“The day after we met he was shirtless with his legs wrapped around me.”
