Town moves sculpture over complaints it depicts ‘gay orgy’
By Josh Haggis
A sculpture in a Michigan town has been relocated after locals complained that it depicts a “gay orgy”.
Artist Mark Chatterley’s Blue Human Condition (pictured below) is intended to represent people “supporting each other”, but some residents of Adrian City Hall, Michigan have objected to it, deeming the work of art “disgusting” and “an abomination”, and even dubbing the work of art “the orgy statue.”
Local pastor Rick Strawcutter argued that city officials are “leading Adrian to Sodom” in a YouTube video posted to his personal account last month (April).
Chatterley told the Huffington Post that the reaction to his sculpture only shows “what people are really thinking about”.
The sculpture has since been relocated to a park outside of the view of passers-by.
