Scotland’s same-sex marriage bill is expected to be passed later today (February 4).

The bill is facing its final vote in the Holyrood parliament, and is expected to be passed with an overwhelming majority, BBC News reports.

It passed its last hurdle with 98 votes in favour, as opposed to 15 not in favour, and five abstaining from the vote.

The first same-sex marriages in Scotland should be able to take place from October, although some outlets are reporting that this date could be brought forward if Westminster helps accelerate the changes.

MSPs have been allowed a free vote, rather than being told to follow party lines, with regards to the same-sex marriage bill.

The first same-sex marriages in England and Wales will take place from March 29.

Attitude is to publish its first-ever “bookazine” to celebrate the first same-sex marriages taking place in the UK.

The 148-page glossy guide will be available exclusively in print at WHSmith from March 25, and will also be available to download via Attitude’s digital app for tablet and mobile.
