Sam Smith talks Grindr: ‘I miss the mystery of dating’
By Josh Haggis
Sam Smith has criticised gay social apps such as Grindr, saying that he “misses the mystery” when it comes to modern day dating.
The British soul singer previously spoke about his use of gay apps during an interview last year, where he argued that they are “ruining dating” and “destroying the art of conversation”. Find out more here.
Smith has now backtracked on his comments slightly, saying that although they “may work for some people,” the apps just aren’t for him.
“It may work for some people, but I miss the mystery. I find it much more sexy when someone’s fully dressed in a suit and you’ve got to work to undress them,” he told GQ.
Meanwhile, the singer has spoken about his recent breakup, saying that his former partner was “dangerous” but that he liked the “excitement” he offered.
