Queer Eye’s Antoni Porowski pays tribute to ‘idol’ Anthony Bourdain
The food and wine expert is one of the many celebrities to pay tribute to the famous chef
Queer Eye’s food and wine expert Antoni Porowski has paid tribute to celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain after his death yesterday morning (June 8).
According to CNN, Bourdain, 61, was found dead in his hotel room yesterday at the Le Chambard luxury hotel in Kayserberg, Eastern France. According to reports, Bourdain, who championed LGBT rights, died by suicide.
Now, Antoni Porowski has paid tribute to the chef on his Instagram channel, sharing an image of Bourdain alongside a famous quote.
Porowski wrote: “’There is no lying in the kitchen. And no God’ – Anthony Bourdain.”
He added: “A rebel. My idol. RIP.”
The Queer Eye star also paid tribute to the chef on Twitter, writing: “I am shocked and deeply saddened. RIP to a father, partner, chef, writer, and incredibly talented man. @Bourdain Prayers for his loved ones.”
Reports reveal that Bourdain was in France filming footage for his travel show Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown with CNN.
Following his death, the news website issued a statement reading: “It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain.
“His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much.”
Celebrities including Nigella Lawson, Josh Brolin and Chrissy Teigen have also paid tribute to Bourdain.
