Pete Waterman has praised Kylie Minogue for her presence on the new series of The Voice UK.

The pop impresario – who had a hand in many of Kylie’s early hits – said that the Into The Blue singer’s charisma “oozes from the television”.

He told The Guardian: “Kylie was always the sort of person that, when the camera was on her, it really loved her.I remember doing so many gigs in the early days where we took television cameras with us and the cameramen would turn around to us and say, ‘My God, we’ve never seen anybody like this girl!’ And if you watch The Voice that’s what you see – someone with such amazing charisma that it just oozes from the television.”

The third series of The Voice UK kicked off earlier this month (January) with an impressive 8.37 million viewers, with Kylie and Ricky Wilson credited with breathing new life into the show.
