Over 80% of gay men send explicit pics to strangers, says poll

By Josh Haggis

Over 80% of gay men have sent explicit pictures of themselves to other men on gay apps, a new poll has found.

The study, carried out by GrabHim last month (February), surveyed nearly 4000 regular users of gay dating apps such as Grindr and found some pretty shocking statistics.

Grindr

A massive 83% of men admitted that they have sent ‘dick pics’ to people they haven’t met face-to-face, while 53% revealed that they have no issue with asking another guy about the size of his package to gauge whether they want to continue contact.

When asked what they mainly use the app for, 45% said that they are looking for a date but don’t mind if it turns out to just be a casual hookup, while 10% claimed they are strictly looking to find a relationship. Those 10% are in luck, considering over 70% of respondents revealed that they have found a meaningful relationship while on a gay dating app.

Meanwhile, a shocking 30% insisted that it’s “unlikely” that they would actively seek out or respond to contact from a gay man outside of their own race on a dating app.

90% of HIV positive respondents stated that they disclose their status before sex, while 10% said that they would only disclose their status when asked, even if they intended to hookup.
