actress Taryn Manning has predicted that Britney Spears would thrive in the show’s fictional Lichfield prison.

Manning, who co-starred opposite Spears in the singer’s 2002 movie debut Crossroads, says in the latest issue of Attitude: “Britney would rule the roost! I love her.”

Manning, who plays unstable meth-head Pennsatucky in the hit Netflix drama, also spoke about the show’s big gay following, saying: “At first, I was concerned that [the show] might just be for women.”

“But then a few men would start coming up to me who just loved the show,” she continued. “I think [the show’s fans are] straight men mostly for the sex scenes, but so many gay men come up to me too. There’s something for everyone.”

TOM 150During the interview Manning goes on to give the show’s limited wardrobe a fairly back-handed compliment. “That’s the beauty of our show,” she quips, “no matter what shape or size you are, no-one looks good in those ugly potato sacks.”

The latest issue of Attitude also features interviews with Manning’s Orange Is the New Black co-stars Laura Prepon (Alex Vause), Yael Stone (Lorna Morello) and Kimiko Glenn (Brooke Soso).

The issue, which features Tom Daley on the cover, is available to download now at pocketmags.com/attitude or to order via post at newsstand.co.uk/attitude.
