‘Modern day Anita Byrant’ named ‘Loser of the Year’

Florida’s Republican Attorney General has been named ‘Loser of the Year’.
Pam Bondi – a two-time divorcee – received the accolade from the Tampa Bay Times this week, who criticised her outspoken opposition of Florida’s soon to be lifted same-sex marriage ban and called the 49 year-old “a modern day Anita Bryant.”
“Bondi’s clumsy communication skills and relentless defense of Florida’s gay marriage ban have made her a modern-day Anita Bryant,” newspaper.
“Antagonizing Florida’s gay voters over same-sex marriage and Hispanic voters over immigration reform ensures Bondi has a bright political future ahead of her — if she moves to Mississippi,” it added.
According to Huff Post, earlier this year Bondi argued in court documents that legalising same-sex marriage in Florida would “impose significant public harm.”
