Mike Pence says his anti-gay reputation is ‘fake news’ as he speaks out in support of gay Olympian Adam Rippon
The Vice President's support rings empty and hollow, frankly

Mike Pence has labelled his anti-gay reputation as nothing more than “fake news”.
After the Vice President tried to arrange a meeting with gay olympian Adam Rippon last month (Jan), the figure skater hit back at the politician and blasted his anti-gay voting record by tweeting a series of Pence’s own quotes.
However, in a public response on Twitter, Pence has pleaded with Rippon to not believe the “fake news” about his anti-gay remarks, and insisted that he supports the gay olympian’s efforts at this year’s 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
.@Adaripp I want you to know we are FOR YOU. Don’t let fake news distract you. I am proud of you and ALL OF OUR GREAT athletes and my only hope for you and all of #TeamUSA is to bring home the gold. Go get ‘em!

His remarks fall on deaf ears however, considering there’s absolutely nothing “fake” about his remarks about the LGBT+ community. Go figure.
In 2006, Pence voted in favour of a constitutional amendment that would have kept marriage defined as between a man and a woman. The following year he also voted against two bills that would have helped stop discrimination against LGBT+ workers.
Oh, and in 2009 he also tried to vote down a bill that would have expanded the definition of “hate crime” to include prejudice against someone’s sexual orientation.
Sweetie.
