Madonna apologises for using ‘n’ word on Instagram
By Nick Levine

Madonna has apologised for using the “n” word on Instagram.
Earlier this week the singer posted a photo on the social networking website showing her son Rocco Ritchie boxing. It was accompanied by the caption: “No one messes with Dirty Soap! Mama said knock you out! #disn***a.”
She has since removed the picture and caption, and issued an apology post. It reads: “I am sorry if I offended anyone with my use of the N word on Instagram. It was not meant as a racial slur.. I am not a racist. There’s no way to defend the use of the word.
“It was all about intention.. It was used as a term of endearment toward my son who is white. I appreciate that it’s a provocative word and I apologise if it gave people the wrong impression. Forgive me.”
Madonna joined Instagram eleven months ago and now has over 1.07m followers. See her apology post below.
