Kylie Minogue and Joshua Sasse won’t marry until equal marriage is legal in Australia

She’s a gay icon for a reason, you know.
Yep, Kylie Minogue and fiancé Joshua Sasse have vowed that they will not tie the knot until all Australians, gay or straight, have the same right.
The couple, who got engaged earlier this year, are leading the charge for marriage equality as Australia gears up for a proposed plebiscite on the issue in February 2017.
Sasse, who stars in US musical comedy Galavant, told Australia’s Seven Network that he and Minogue hoped to marry in the singer’s home city of Melbourne, “but we will not get married until this law has passed in Australia”.
“When I found out that gay marriage was illegal in Australia, I was astounded,” he said.
“I simply can’t fathom on any level, whether it’s moral or religious or anything, that I have the right to get married and to marry the person that I love and that somebody else doesn’t because of their sexual orientation.”
The 28-year-old Brit has already been a vocal proponent of equality, founding LGBT campaign group ‘Say I Do Down Under’ and enlisting fellow stars including Dolly Parton, Jake Shears and Margot Robbie to help fight the cause.
Following the interview’s transmission, Kylie took to Twitter to reassert the couple’s pledge and address LGBT Australian’s directly, saying: “We can say ‘I Do’ when you can too!”

She also posted a picture of herself on Instagram, supporting one of the ‘Say I Do Down Under’ campaign’s rather lovely t-shirts.
