Gay bear model Chris Miklos found dead aged 40

Chris Miklos, a popular model on the gay bear scene, has passed away.

The 40-year-old was found dead in his home in Dallas, Texas by a neighbour yesterday afternoon (July 21), the Dallas Voice reports, though he had apparently not been seen since Saturday (July 19).

He is believed to have died of a heart attack.

When he wasn’t modelling, Miklos earned a living as a clinical research associate, performing medical testing on experimental drugs include those being developed to combat HIV and AIDS.

A Kickstarter campaign created by Bear World magazine to fund Miklos’s 2015 calendar has since been cancelled.

Miklos is survived by his parents and a younger brother.
