Former Australian rugby player John Hopoate defends Israel Folau and says ‘God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve’

Israel Folau was recently fired by Rugby Australia for his homophobic stance

A former Australian rugby player has defended Israel Folau’s homophobic comments saying ‘God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve’.

Last week, the Wallabies star posted a picture on Instagram which said that gay people will go to Hell and since posting the image, Folau has been sacked by Rugby Australia for his homophobic stance.

Now, John Hopoate – who is known for being one of Australia’s celebrated rugby league players – has taken to Facebook to defend the disgraced Folau.

He wrote in a post which appears to have been deleted now: “Why’s everyone so worried about what Israel Folau said.

“All these idiots carrying on like he’s murdered someone. If your a bloody HOMO who cares, I’ve been called racist names and all other crap all my life and if you can’t handle been told your going to hell we’ll toughen the F up cause no 1 cares if you do or if you don’t.

“But 1 thing I can say is GOD MADE ADAM AND EVE NOT ADAM AND STEVE.”
