Donald Trump just claimed that he supports gay equality

That is literally the definition of 'fake news' sweetie

Donald Trump has claimed he supports LGBT equality.

The US President sent the letter to the Log Cabin Republicans, which happens to be the nation’s oldest and largest group of LGBT conservatives, in celebration of its 40th anniversary.

The signed letter was dated December 21, 2017, and addressed gay equality, the Advocate reports.

It read: “We are a nation founded on the undeniable truth that all of us are created equal. We are equal in the eyes of our Creator. We are equal under the law. And we are all equal under our Constitution.”

“No matter the colour of our skin or our sexual orientation, we all live under the same laws, salute the same great American flag, and are made in the image of the same Almighty God.”

It continued: “As we write the next great chapter of our Nation, we reaffirm our commitment to these fundamental truths and will work to ensure that all Americans live in a country where they feel safe and where their opportunities are limitless.”

In an email to Log Cabin members, Gregory T. Angelo, the Log Cabin’s president, said: “What a way to start the year!”

He thanked the US President for his “kind memorialisation of Log Cabin Republicans’ past and their best wishes for our future as we forge ahead, together, toward a more equal America.”

The organisation then encouraged members to share the letter on social day, a day after Trump’s proclamation for Religious Freedom Day in which he declared that no one should be “forced to choose between the tenents of faith or adherence to the law.”

During the 2016 presidential election, the Log Cabin refused to endorse Trump over worries about what he’d do on LGBT rights.
