‘Christian’ haunted house event that included depictions of Pulse shooting banned and cancelled

By Fabio Crispim

A Chicago haunted house is under fire for including depictions of the 2016 Orlando Pulse nightclub massacre where 49 LGBT people were murdered.

The event is called The Room: A Journey to Hell and is being described as a “Christian interactive experience” that has 12 rooms of “action-packed, real and jaw-dropping” terror.

The event was organised by Tyrone Tappler Productions who put out a Facebook call looking for volunteers willing to create the horrifying scene.

He wrote, “Club Pulse, Dancers, Victims… caged people/screamers, extras needed trying to escape a cage! Sounds interesting? Come out this Saturday!”

Other scenarios described in the event include a botched abortion and the 2015 shooting at a church in Charlestone, South Carolina.

According to NewNowNext, the event was scheduled to run from October 29 and 30 at Fernwood Elementary School but a rep for the the Chicago Public School System says it’s been pulled.

Tyrone Tappler then posted on Facebook that the event had been banned, promising to refund ticket holders.
