Bryan Singer’s next film, ‘Red Sonja’, put on hold following multiple sexual assault allegations
The director has been accused of multiple accounts of sexual misconduct when the men were underage

Bryan Singer’s next film, Red Sonja, has been put on hold following multiple sexual assault allegations made against him.
The upcoming film is based around the Marvel Comics character – created by Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith – who is a sword-and-sorcery character whose backstory involves her rape and the murder of her family.
Singer – who recently helmed the Golden Globe-winning Bohemian Rhapsody before being fired just before shooting finished – was hired to direct the new Marvel movie but Millennium Films has told The Hollywood Reporter they are not shopping the film at the European Film Market in Berlin.
However, Singer – who was replaced by Dexter Fletcher after he was fired weeks before finishing shooting – has been accused by four men in a recent article in The Atlantic of multiple accounts of sexual assault when the men were underage in the 1990s.
Although the film – which was set to start filming this year – has been put on hold amid the allegations, Singer has not been removed from the film as of yet.
Following the article in The Atlantic, Millennium Films CEO Avi Lerner called the article ‘agenda driven fake news’.
Lerner then told The Hollywood Reporter: “I don’t want to apologize. I just want to clarify [the statement].
“I think victims should be heard and this allegation should be taken very, very seriously. I just don’t agree to judge by the Twitter. I want [the accused] to be judged by the court.”
