Singer Adam Lambert has been voted “the most dateable gay guy on the planet” by the readers of US magazine OUT.

The American Idol star bagged a massive 21.81% of votes cast, beating Eating Out‘s Chris Salvatore, who snagged 14.34% of votes, into second place.

OUT‘s annual list is supposed to feature the “100 most eligible bachelors”, so single gay guys only, but it has since emerged that Salvatore actually has a boyfriend, Patrick McDonald, with whom he often poses on Instagram.

Actor Darryl Stephens came third with 12.2% of the vote, while Glee‘s Chris Colfer and former Prison Break star Wentworth Miller also featured in the top ten. Newly single singer Ricky Martin came in at eleventh.

Owing to confusion among voters, Looking‘s Jonathan Groff actually appears in the top 100 twice – once as himself, and once as his character on the HBO show, Patrick.

The top ten in full:

1. Adam Lambert
2. Chris Salvatore
3. Darryl Stephens
4. Eliad Cohen
5. Brian Sims
6. Chris Colfer
7. Steve Grand
8. Christopher Rice
9. Wentworth Miller
10. Andrej Pejic
