Frank Ocean is hosting an inclusive new club night called PrEP+.

The Grammy Award-winning singer will debut the event at a secret location in New York City on Thursday night (17 October) as the “first in a series of nights” designed to provide “an ongoing safe space made to bring people together and dance.”

With the promise of golbally-celebrated DJs, PrEP+ has been designed as an “homage” to what could have been of the 1980s NYC club scene had the HIV-prevention medication PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) been available at the time.

According to organisers, the club night has four key rules: No photos or videos; consent is mandatory; zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism or any form or discrimination, and the dance floor is for dancing.

Tickets are on sale now, though, as you might expect from a singer as mysterious as Mr Ocean, the exact location of PrEP+ is a closely-guarded secret which will only be revealed in the hours before the event, whick kicks off at 10pm.

Since making his acclaimed debut with 2012’s Channel Orange, which coincided with his public coming out, Ocean has kept his much of his life shrouded in secrecy.

However, the 31-year-old, whose last album, Blond, was released in 2016, did shed some light on his personal life earlier this year, revealing he’scurrently in a long-term relationship.

“I don’t use dating apps. I’ve been in a relationship for three years,” he told GayLetter. “I definitely wasn’t using dating apps before then. I don’t think I would use dating apps now.

“I fuck with Marc Jacobs’ philosophy on that, so, I wouldn’t rule it out, but it is a little hectic being a famous person on dating app.”
