The sun is shining (although by the time you read this it will probably be cloudy again) and everyone’s gearing up for shorts, sneakers with no socks, and Sundays lounging in the park. No, we don’t really know how to pronounce that either. It’s a typically cryptic name from Ikea, but it’s still a lovely little rug that will brighten up your living room, hallway or bedroom. Great if you’ve got hardwood floors and want something soft under your feet in the mornings.

Finally – flowers, flowers, flowers!

These days there is never a shortage of good flower markets, especially if you live in the city, so flowers can be found at really affordable prices. Get a bunch of tulips, which are in bloom at this time of year and come in loads of colours. We recommend a vase but if you would rather not buy one then a nice jug will do the job.
