Swimmer Martin Cremin: ‘You meet some c*cks on the gay scene!’

By Attitude Magazine

As part of Attitude’s Love & Marriage special issue, out now, we chat to a variety of young single guys to get a taste of what gay dating is like in 2015. Among them is Martin Cremin, 23, Scottish swimming champ and recent Attitude cover star (that was him on our recent Sex issue, clad in barely-there red speedos alongside his swimming team mates).

Chatting to Attitude, Cremin admitted his experiences on gay dating apps had been hit-and-miss: “It’s not particularly romantic when a guy introduces himself with, ‘Hi!’ and a photo of his penis, but it does have comedy value and you meet some cocks on the gay scene anyway!”

Martin Cremins
Cremin – who usually dates guys “a little older than me” – says his biggest courting turn-off is guys who come on too strong.
“I will lose interest pretty quickly if I go on a date with someone and he feels he must keep in touch constantly via text from that point. It’s a big turn-off.”

Cremin also had one word of advice for others navigating the gay dating scene: beware attached men who hit on you.

“The guys you have to watch out for are those that are already taken. I’ve been charmed by many a handsome man in Soho only to be left red-faced when his boyfriend returns from the bathroom. Ultimately, there is a guy out there for you. You won’t know it’s him until you have the balls to go over and say hi.”

Wise words. Check out our full interview with Cremin – plus 140-plus pages of wedding, love and dating-themed content – in our Love & Marriage issue, out now.
