Kacey Musgraves revealed she visited Sydney Sauna, an infrared sauna that’s a popular gay cruising spot, in a hilarious on-stage moment.

During her Deeper Well World Tour in Sydney, Australia, last week (20 November), the ‘Golden Hour’ singer said she was looking for a place to relax but ended up making friends at the gay cruising spot.

She told the crowd that earlier that day she had been searching online for a sauna to burn off some steam. “This is very gay… this is not meant for me,” she said. She continued, “It was, like, ‘Sydney’s premier gay sauna destination’… They used the word ‘cruise’.”

“I was going to just go, but I’m glad I looked it up, because it’s a very gay men’s situation,” Musgraves added. “I’m sure there are lots of penises there,” she joked in response to someone in the crowd who shouted “penis!”

“They said wet rooms… They said 23 serviceable wet rooms. Plenty of cruising areas,” she explained.

“What if I could learn a thing or two in there?” – Musgraves on her experience in the gay sauna

The 37-year-old singer quipped: “So I stayed… I wanted to make some friends, I was nosy. What if I could learn a thing or two in there?”

“They said it’s 24 hours, so we’re going back after the show!” the LGBTQ+ ally hilariously concluded.

The tour comes after Musgraves broke her sixth rib in June during a fall in Mexico, which postponed her Nashville concert at Sing for Science’s The Magic of Mushrooms event. The show was later rescheduled for September.

“I kind of feel like everyone’s a little bit gay” – Musgraves at her Sydney concert

Musgraves has a huge LGBTQ+ following, stemming from her 2018 hit Rainbow. At her Sydney concert and more, she often speaks directly to LGBTQ+ audiences and shares humorous exchanges.

Last week, she recalled a moment when a member of her team said, “Get ready, because the best gays are going to be there,” prompting fans to raise their hands and cheer.

“I’m not trying to out anyone, damn. Raise your hand if you’re gay! I kind of feel like everyone’s a little bit gay,” she said.
