Jamaican adult star YardieStyle explains why over £1.5 million in porn earnings helped him come out

Jamaican adult star YardieStyle has addressed why he waited until he had earned $2 million (over £1.5 million) from porn to come out as bisexual.

YardieStyle came out as LGBTQ+ in an interview with Gaye Magazine late last month, admitting the moment marked the first time he had addressed his sexuality publicly, including with his parents.

The porn star rose to adult content stardom in 2018 and, around 10 years ago, moved into the female-to-male transgender category.

Initially wanting to come out after he made his first million from the porn industry, he admitted his nerves got the better of him, though that changed recently when he doubled that number.

“That’s when I made my second million. Right. You know what, let me just do it,” he said. “That might be my coming out story.”

When asked what his parents thought about his sexuality, YardieStyle spoke about the taboo around being gay in Jamaica: “You see a thing, you understand it, but we don’t really have a communal story.”

Now living in New York City, he began his career as a teacher, majoring in biology at university with a minor in drama. He also trained to be a nurse after moving to the Bronx.

“I was making a good amount of money a month, but then the fans were giving me that in a week,” he admitted, and after almost finishing his master’s, he made the move to the camera.

With more than 765,000 followers on his NSFW X account, his bio states he creates two 45-minute videos each week across all available platforms, culminating in around 90 hours of footage every week.
