Kelly Clarkson covered Sam Smith’s Stay With Me during a free concert over the weekend.
The singer’s show at Charlotte’s Symphony Park was her first official performance since giving birth to her daughter River Rose in June.
Speaking to the crowd before her rendition of the song, she said: “Anybody like Sam Smith here? I love this song and I know you probably have heard it a bunch.
“It’s fun to sing and it’s bluesy… I just like the word ‘stay’ in songs, so I’m just going to sing it in every song.”
Stay With Me hit number one in the UK earlier this year, and also peaked at number nine in the US.
Meanwhile, Clarkson will release Wrapped In Red as her Christmas single this year. The song is taken from her festive album of the same name, which was released last year.
