Watch Ian McKellen help a man propose to his boyfriend

Ian McKellen has helped a man to propose to his boyfriend in adorable fashion.
Brett Lotriet Best managed to persuade the legendary actor to appear in a YouTube video in which he pops the question to his long-term partner, Khalid Shawwa.
In the video, Best holds up a series of flashcards explaining that his boyfriend is a huge fan of Star Trek’s Captain Picard, played by Patrick Stewart.
He then reveals that he has contacted Stewart’s best friend, McKellen, who is more than happy to take part in the proposal video.
McKellen duly appears on screen and advises Shawwa to accept Best’s proposal, urging him to “do the right thing”. Watch the video below – and if one adorable proposal video isn’t enough, check out another right here.
