Unreleased George Michael single to feature in the new movie ‘Last Christmas’

The official soundtrack will be released on November 8 and can be pre-ordered now

An unreleased George Michael song will feature in the new movie Last Christmas.

Starring Emilia Clarke and Crazy Rich Asians‘ star Henry Golding, the movie was written by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings and directed by Bridesmaids director Paul Feig.

It was previously reported that the screenplay was in development with the former Wham! frontman until his untimely death on Christmas Day in 2016.

Now, the official tracklist for the movie soundtrack has been released and it features an unreleased Michael classic ‘This Is How (We Want You To Get High)’.

Other singles include ‘Freedom’, ‘Faith’, ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go’ and of course, the title track ‘Last Christmas’.

Speaking of her meeting with George Michael that led to the making of the film, Emma Thompson said: “The wisdom and emotional scope of George’s lyrics have always amazed me. So many feel like they were written for the movie.”
 
“After I met George and experienced his compassion and understanding up close, I realized that in fact the movie was written for those lyrics.”

The film Last Christmas will be released in the US on November 8 the UK on November 15 and on assorted dates throughout the rest of the world until December 27.

The soundtrack will be released on November 8 on CD and Digital configurations.  Pre-order the album here.
