The Queen and Prince Philip are to make an appearance on Antiques Roadshow.

During an upcoming episode of the long-running show, the Royal pair will be seen presenting some of the antiques at their official residence in Northern Ireland, Hillsborough Castle, before learning about the objects’ history from the Antiques Roadshow‘s panel of experts.

Among the Royal antiques assessed are an Aboriginal fighting stick and a bronze horse sculpture by French artist Pierre Jules Men – the latter of which The Queen showed particular interest in, reports the BBC.

“She [the Queen] loved the silver and she was very interested in the stories behind the items – they were both interested in everything on the table,” said Hilary Kay, one of the Antiques Roadshow experts.

During filming, Prince Philip asked when the episode would be shown on BBC One, which prompted The Queen to turn away from signing Hillsborough Castle’s visitor book and exclaim: “If it is in August then even better because we might have a chance to see it!”

The Royal-themed episode of the Antiques Roadshow will on BBC One this autumn.
