The Politician season two’s arrival on Netflix is imminent, and we’re salivating at the prospect of seeing Ben Platt go head-to-head with none other than Bette Midler as another campaign race begins.

The second season of Ryan Murphy’s political comedy drama picks up where the first season left off, with former high school president Payton Hobart (Platt) deciding to run for New York State Senate against incumbent Dede Standish (Judith Light) and her conniving campaign manager Hadassah Gold (Bette Midler).

The newly-released trailer promises plenty of scheming, backstabbing, and throuple action to come over the course of the eight-episode season. Which is all we need to know, frankly.
