Tesco feature a gay couple in their new Christmas advert

By Joshua Haigh

Tesco have unveiled their new Christmas advertisement.

The supermarket brand is gearing up for the festive season which is just around the corner now, and they’ve opted to make their new advert inclusive of the LGBT+ community.

The adorable advert shows the way in which various different families cook their turkey – and the multiple ways it can go wrong. At one point it goes to a gay couple, who are checking whether their turkey is cooked.

The camera cuts to one man asking his partner: “Did you take out the giblets?” before he replies: “Giblets…” with a disgusted look on his face.

We’ve all been there.

Tesco said of the inclusive new ad: “Everyone is welcome at Tesco this Christmas and we’re proud to celebrate the many ways our customers come together over the festive season.”

We’re certainly glad to see major UK brands taking notice of the LGBT+ community.
