Schitt’s Creek’s sixth and final season gets UK premiere date

Oh yay, David, YAY!

By Will Stroude

Ever since the sixth and final season of Schitt’s Creek arrived on US TV screens in January, UK fans have been itching to know when they’ll be able to see hit comedy series’ swansong episodes/

Well, now we’ve got our answer, with Netflix UK revealing this week that all 14 episodes of Schitt’s Creek season six will be hitting the streaming service on 14 May.

That certainly feels like a little way off, especially for those already racing through box sets while self-isolating and social distancing due to the effects of the ongoing coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic – but hey, it’s nice to have something to look forward to amongst all this bad news, right?

Created by American Pie star Eugene Levy and his son Dan Levy, the award-winning Schitt’s Creek follows the lives of the formerly wealthy Rose family as they’re forced to relocate to a small rural town after losing their riches.

The series has won plaudits for its progressive portrayal of pansexuality through Dan Levy’s character David, while matriarch Moira Rose (Catherine O’Hara) and air-headed former heiress Alexis (Annie Murphy) have risen to camp icon status over the course of five seasons.

With the closing moments of season five seeing David announce his engagement to boyfriend Patrick (Noah Reid), we can’t wait to see whether one of TV most popular same-sex couples gets their happy-ever-after…

The sixth and final season of Schitt’s Creek arrives on Netflix in the UK on 14 May.
