RuPaul’s Drag Race UK cast’s docu-series God Shave the Queen heading to iPlayer
A fly-on-the-wall look at the Alyssa Edwards-hosted UK tour

The cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK‘s docu-series God Shave the Queen is heading to iPlayer via BBC Three, it has been confirmed.
The eight-part fly-on-the-wall series follows the queens on their first tour of the UK, hosted by Alyssa Edwards.
God Shave the Queens drops on the platform in early November.
Baga Chipz, Divina de Campo, Cheryl Hole, Blu Hydranga, Sum Ting Wong, Vinegar Strokes, Scaredy Kat, Gothy Kendoll and eventual winner The Vivienne (pictured above) will all feature.
The tour in question took the queens to packed arenas in six cities including Newcastle, London, Birmingham and Manchester following their RPDR UK outing last year.
Filming began only a few days after The Vivienne took the crown.
“My first court of British queens”
In a statement, RuPaul commented: “I’m so delighted to send my first court of British queens out to the four corners of the realm – spreading their message of light, love and laughter, and sharing their sweet sensitive souls with the people.”
A BBC rep said the series shows the queens “working on big, highly choreographed numbers and individual performances that showcase their individual talents from circus skills to killer moves, high octave ranges to comedy capers, and power ballads to pure drag glamour.”
They added: “We meet some of their closest celebrity friends, partners and get to join them for a big night out. God Shave the Queens allows Drag Race fans to see their favourite queens in a whole new light.”
Fiona Campbell, Controller of BBC Three meanwhile commented: “This series is a peak under the wigs to see what happens after the Drag Race curtain comes down. Our British Queens have gone down in RuPaul ‘herstory’ and this series is a reminder of why we loved them so much in series 1 and shows us what it takes to be at the top of the game.”
