RuPaul has teamed up with the writer of Sex And The City for a brand new show.

The drag queen will star in a new show called AJ And The Queen which sees RuPaul playing Ruby Red, a “bigger-than-life but down-on-her-luck drag queen” who travels around in a 1990s RV to play in clubs across America.

Netflix reports that RuPaul will perform a musical number at every club and will also have a sidekick, AJ, who is an 11-year-old orphan.

The show will be produced by MPK Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and episodes will be an hour long.

RuPaul will also serve as executive producer and writer for the show alongside Sex And The City writer and showrunner Michael Patrick King, Deadline reports.

Netflix haven’t announced a release date for the new show yet but teased it in a tweet. Alongside a video, Netflix’s See What’s Next Twitter account wrote: “Hold on to your wigs! RuPaul will star in ‘AJ And The Queen,’ a new Netflix comedy series, created by RuPaul and Michael Patrick King!”

Meanwhile, it was announced this week that RuPaul will also star in an adult animated show featuring drag babies called Drag Tots.
