Rihanna unveils brand new single ‘Work’ ahead of album release

Over three years since the release of 2012’s Unapologetic, it looks the the wait for Rihanna’s eighth studio album, ANTI, is almost over – and she’s just dropped a brand new single to go with it.
The Bajan superstar’s latest single ‘Work’, featuring Drake, was unveiled by Scott Mills on BBC Radio 1 at 1pm today (January 27), but in yet another frustrating move the track currently only available to listen to on premium streaming service TIDAL.

The bouncy, dancehall-tinged track sees the 27-year-old team up with Drake for a third time, having previously collaborated for her chart-topping 2010 single ‘What’s My Name’, and the US hip-star’s 2012 track ‘Take Care’. We’re sure there will be snippets circulating on the internet somewhere, but naturally to we wouldn’t dare encourage someone to go looking for them…
The release of ‘Work’ finally ends months of Rihanna drought, following last year’s seemingly aborted album campaign which kicked off with the release of singles ‘FourFiveSeconds’ ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ and ‘American Oxygen’ between January and April 2015.
After a mixed commercial and critical reception to the tracks, things all went a bit silent at camp Rhi-Rhi, with rumours swirling that ANTI was undergoing serious re-recording and had potentially been scrapped altogether.
‘Work’ is being described as the lead single from the album, which is rumoured for release this Friday (January 29). The fate of last year’s singles remains unknown, but Rihanna teased fans earlier this week after tweeting that she was listening to the record (in the best set of jewel-encrusted headphones we’ve ever seen, we might add).
