Paloma Faith and Kesha are in the running for a spot on the 2014 X Factor judging panel, according to reports today (April 13)

Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole are both returning to the judging panel this year, following a three-series absence, but it is currently unclear who will fill the other two vacant seats.

Now an “insider” has told The Sun: “Paloma has held talks about the possibility of becoming a judge. She would balance nicely with Cheryl, and is being talked about seriously. No final decisions have been made. Simon wants to make sure the best judge is hired.”

Simon Cowell is also said to be “keen” on signing up US pop singer Kesha for the panel.

“He thinks she’s edgy and would appeal to a different audience… He’s keen to get an American in, just for a bit of variety. Nothing’s signed but she’s a front-runner,” the “insider” told The Sun.

Last month, Cowell dismissed reports that Rita Ora and Rihanna may be joining the ITV show for its eleventh series. Ellie Goulding has also been linked to the show in recent weeks.
