Olympic figure skater comes out with a very public kiss

By Fabio Crispim

Spanish Olympic figure skater Javier Raya has come out as gay with a very public display of affection.

The 25-year-old athlete, who is the 2011 Spanish national senior champion and competed at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, took to Instagram to come out to sharing a photo of him kissing his boyfriend, Gay Star News reports.

Alongside the photo, Raya wrote: “Many of you know, others can imagine by the pictures and others will be surprised, but I have to say that right now I feel like the luckiest person in the world! Thank you @nicholsondrew”.

While Raya’s post is the first time the sportsman has publicly acknowledged his sexuality himself, his relationship has been well-documented on his boyfriend’s own Instagram page.
