Neil Patrick Harris to join ‘American Horror Story’ cast?

Neil Patrick Harris has expressed an interest in joining the cast of American Horror Story.

The out gay actor revealed that he wrote a letter to the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, asking if he could star in the upcoming fourth season of the smash hit FX show, which is titled American Horror Story: Freakshow.

“I wrote a letter to Ryan asking if I can be in it, even though I wasn’t even available to be in it,” Harris said during an interview with EW Radio. “To do one that involves any kind of freak, circus nonsense is going to be so unsettling to watch. Can’t wait!”

Murphy has since responded to Harris’ comments on Twitter, revealing that he has a role already picked out for the actor.

In Freakshow, long-running American Horror Story star Jessica Lange will play German expat managing one of America’s very last freak shows – and her gaggle of “freaks” will include show favourites Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Frances Conroy.

The fourth season will be the last to feature Lange, and will debut this autumn on US cable network FX. In the UK, the show airs on the FOX channel.
