Michelle Visage has confirmed she will be a judge on the UK version of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

An eight-part series featuring the best of Britain’s drag talent is set to air on BBC Three in 2019, the channel confirmed in December.

News of a British Drag Race comes as the original US show continues to grow in popularity across the globe.

Following the new, Visage – who has been a long-standing judge on the hit US show – has confirmed on Twitter that she will be joining the judging panel when it hits UK screens.

She wrote: “Guys, yes, of COURSE I am a judge… I am THE judge!!”

The judge – who made her West End debut last year in the hit musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie – then released a statement to the BBC saying: “We’ve been working tirelessly to bring the magic of RuPaul’s Drag Race to my favourite city in the world: London!

“I know the UK has a wealth of talent to offer and I’m thrilled beyond belief to see these queens battle it out on the main stage, UK-style! GOD SAVE THE QUEENS!”

Of course, the question on everybody’s (heavily glossed) lips is now which British queens will be competing for the crown (jewels).

The good news is that it doesn’t look we’ll have to wait long to find out…

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK is expected to air on BBC Three in 2019.
