Mean Girls’ Damian: ‘Lindsay and I get on better as adults’
By Will Stroude

star Daniel Franzese has opened up about his relationship with Lindsay Lohan, admitting that the pair “get on better as adults”.
Speaking to Cosmopolitan ahead of the cult 2004 film’s tenth anniversary this month, the 35-year-old actor – who played Damian in the movie – admitted that he didn’t spend much time with Lohan during filming.
“Lindsay and I get along way better now as adults than we did when she was a kid,” he said. “Back then I just felt like, ‘Oh here’s this kid,’ you know?
“I actually didn’t know who she was – to me she wasn’t really on the grid yet, except for that whole Aaron Carter thing.”
He went on to say that he got on best with Cloverfield star Lizzy Caplan, who played ‘art freak’ Janis Ian.
“Definitely Lizzy and I were a clique – there’s no question about that. We were always laughing, always in each other’s trailers, always in each other’s hotel rooms. Inseparable, really.”
Franzese also revealed during the interview that James Franco had originally been considered to play Lohan’s love interest Aaron Samuels – a part that was eventually played by Jonathan Bennett.
“I thought that was so cool – Bennett was great but that would’ve been cool,” he said.
Back in February, Lohan enjoyed a reunion with Franzese and Rajiv Sujendra (Kevin G in the movie), posting a photo of the trio on Instagram together.
