‘Magic Mike’ sequel: Full cast and plot details confirmed

Warner Bros has confirmed casting and plot details for the forthcoming sequel to Magic Mike.

Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez and Gabriel Iglesias will all return for the sequel, which is titled Magic Mike XXL.

They will be joined by new additions Elizabeth Banks, Donald Glover, Amber Heard, Jada Pinkett Smith, Andie MacDowell and Michael Strahan.

It was confirmed earlier this month (September) that Matthew McConaughey will not be returning for the sequel. At present, it is unknown whether Alex Pettyfer – who also appeared in the original 2012 film – will be back for the follow-up.

Magic Mike XXL will be set three years after the film and finds the male stripping troupe preparing to bow out with one last “blow-out performance”. Check out the full plot synopsis below.

“Picking up the story three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, Magic Mike XXL finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them. On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.”

Magic Mike XXL
