Madonna’s spokesperson Liz Rosenberg has confirmed that Messiah is a song from the Queen of Pop’s forthcoming album.
The song – which Madonna has teased numerous times on Instagram – is expected to be released as the first single from her 13th studio album.
On Monday (July 7), Madonna offered a sneak preview of song lyrics, and used the hashtag #messiah.
Rosenberg linked to the lyrics on Facebook, adding: “Madonna fans – Check out this teaser for her new song Messiah.”
In recent months, Madonna has used her Instagram to reveal the diverse palette of collaborators she has assembled for her next album. The list now comprises Sky Ferreira/Haim producer Ariel Rechtshaid, Wrecking Ball co-writer MoZella, MIA collaborator Diplo, DJ/producer Avicii, former Lady Gaga collaborator Martin Kierszenbaum, cult pop singer Natalia Kills, US hit-maker Toby Gad and R&B producer Symbolyc One.
She also hinted that she might be working with UK dance duo Disclosure – though Disclosure have since dismissed these rumours.
Last week (July 2), LA-based producer Diplo teased that the tracks he has recorded with Madonna are “crazy sounding” – click here to find out more.
Madonna’s last studio album, MDNA, was released in 2012 and reached number one in the US and UK. She scored her 13th and most recent UK chart-topping single with 4 Minutes in 2008.
