Lady Gaga to play bisexual socialite in American Horror Story

American Queen of Pop Lady Gaga is to star as an evil bisexual villain in the forthcoming season of American Horror Story: Hotel.
Last month, we brought you the first glimpse of Gaga in a teaser trailer for the highly anticipated new season.
As details behind the series continue to trickle through, BBC Newsbeat reports series co-creator Ryan Murphy told the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Saturday the Born This Way songbird would play Elizabeth, the owner of the hotel.
“She owns the hotel and she is sort of a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art and fashion and people,” he said.
“She has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode that plays out over the course of the season.”
Asked what LGBT-related story lines would appear in the new season, Murphy replied: ‘Lady Gaga plays a character who has relationships with Matt [Bomer] and Angela [Bassett] and Cheyenne [Jackson].”
Lady Gaga’s only prior film appearances to date are in Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.
As the fifth instalment of the popular hit US series, American Horror Story: Hotel sees the same ensemble of actors take on a different group of characters in each anthology, set within creepy locations including a carnival freak show, to an asylum, to a psychiatrist’s mansion.
Among returning cast members are Hollywood legend Kathy Bates, Magic Mike star Matt Bomer, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett and Chloe Sevigny.
Romer, who has received two Emmy nominations and one Golden Globe nomination for American Horror Story said his character Donovan would be closely associated with Gaga’s Elizabeth.
“Being on the show was totally new for me and one of the most exciting things is seeing it all put together and realising what other people have been doing,” he said.
American Horror Story: Hotel will air on Fox in the UK in November.
