Jim Parsons reveals why he decided not to renew his contract with ‘Big Bang Theory’

Jim Parsons has revealed why he decided to quit the Big Bang Theory.
The openly gay actor has portrayed Sheldon Cooper in the popular TV for 12 seasons and despite showrunners wanting to continue to series, Parsons decided not to renew his contract.
Now, the show’s final episode is set to air in the US on Thursday (May 16) and Parsons has opened up about why he decided to not continue with the show after season 12.
Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Parsons – who won four Emmys for his role – said: “It was the first time in my life of doing this show that it occurred to me that I might want to not do another contract after [Season] 12 was up.
“I don’t know if it’s because I’m an Aries or just because maybe I’m in touch with myself.
“Whatever it is, once I had that thought, I was like, ‘Well, that’s your answer.’
“There was no factor; there was no situation that I was like, ‘Well, I’ve had enough of that’. It was just… when you know, you know.”
