Iggy Azalea talks Britney Spears: ‘She told me her album is ready’

By Josh Haggis

Britney Spears has allegedly told Iggy Azalea that her new album is finished.

Despite claims from both Spears and her manager that the Princess of Pop is “focusing on singles” for the time being, Azalea has revealed in a new interview that Spears refused to be reduced to a featured artist on their new single Pretty Girls because her album is “ready” and she wanted it for herself.

“You know it was such a journey, that song. I got asked and it was her song. Then she didn’t think she would have her album done in time,” Azalea told MTV. “I rewrote parts of it and it became my song, and I tried to make it all mine, I wanted to keep it. Then she said, ‘No, no, I am going to take it, my album is ready'”.

She continued: “And so I swung it back her way because she’s Britney Spears, you have to do that. She gets whatever she wants.”

The Aussie rapper went on to call the new single a “true duet,” teasing that she features heavily on the track’s chorus alongside Spears.

She added: “In turn, it’s kind of really evolved into something that I was just featured on originally, into really a true duet, where I’m on the chorus with her. We go back and forth. She has her verses and I have my verse, but it’s not just me kind of popping in it. It really is a duet. And I love that. I love a good pop duet where it’s equally powerhouse, cool.”

Could this mean the legendary Miss Britney Jean Spears is planning on pulling a Beyonce-style release? We’re not ready.
