Thrones

Charles Dance is to make a surprise appearance in the upcoming fifth season of Games of Thrones.

Dance, who plays Hand of the King, Tywin Lannister, in the hit HBO series, was killed off in the final episode of season four when he was shot with a crossbow while on the toilet by his son, Tyrion.

During an interview with MTV, the actor revealed that despite his character’s death he will make an appearance in the show’s forthcoming season, but declined to give further details about the nature of his role.

“I’m not completely missing out on the next series. More than that, I’m not going to say,” he said. “You haven’t seen the last of Tywin Lannister, is all I’ll say.”

Meanwhile, it has recently been announced that one of the show’s central characters will not appear in season five – find out who here.

Game of Thrones is set to return to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2015.
