Gay speed skater Blake Skjellerup gets engaged to boyfriend

Gay speed skater Blake Skjellerup has announced his engagement.

The 29-year-old and his fiancé Saul Carrasco announced their news by posting a picture of themselves at the Gay Games in Cleveland.

Skjellerup wrote beside the picture: “Sunset over #Cleveland with my fiancé.”

The New Zealand-born skater was a torch bearer at the Opening Ceremony of the Gay Games on Sunday (August 10) – read more here.

He is also serving as an Ambassador at the Games, following his recent work to tackle homophobia in sport.
