Gay couples star in Tove Lo’s ‘Timebomb’ video

By Will Stroude

Swedish songstress Tove Lo has unveiled the music video for her new single Timebomb.

The visual for the booming electro-pop number sees a host of real life couples, both gay and straight, take to the beach for a spot of emotional interpretive dance, while Tove engages in some increasingly heavy (and increasingly naked) hair-ography waterside.

Announcing the video’s release on Facebook, the 27-year-old Habits singer said: “The song tells the bittersweet story of losing that explosive passion you start out with, and how it’s painful and beautiful all at once.

Timebomb the video tells the story of loves that can’t last because people around won’t let them. And still they fight to stay together. That is also beautiful. And painful.

“In my heart I believe everyone should be able to love whoever they want. I wanted to shine some light on that in this video. Never take it for granted.”

Timebomb is the third single to be lifted from Tove’s debut album Queen of the Clouds, and follows the release of Stay High and Talking Body, which charted at numbers 6 and 17 on the UK Top 40 Singles Chart respectively.
