‘Frozen’, Jennifer Lawrence win BAFTA Film Awards

Frozen
and Jennifer Lawrence were among the winners at the BAFTA Film Awards tonight (February 16).
Disney’s Frozen took home the Animated Film prize, while Lawrence was awarded the Supporting Actress prize, beating off competition from Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, Sally Hawkins and Lupita Nyong’o.
12 Years A Slave took home the prestigious Best Film prize and its star Chiwetel Ejiofor was named Leading Actor of the year. Cate Blanchett won the Leading Actress Prize against tough competition from Amy Adams, Judi Dench, Emma Thompson and Sandra Bullock.
Gravity also won a pair of major prizes: for Outstanding British Film and the Director trophy for Alfonso Cuarón.
The annual awards bash was hosted by Stephen Fry at London’s Royal Opera House and stars in attendance included Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Uma Thurman, Oprah Winfrey, Emma Thompson, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Michael Fassbender.
Dame Helen Mirren was awarded the highest honour of the night, the BAFTA Fellowship, by the Duke of Cambridge in recognition of her career achievements in film.
