Franco on near-naked selfie: ‘It’s what the people want.’

James Franco has defended his somewhat controversial use of Instagram.
The Spring Breakers star recently shared a near-naked selfie on the social media site (see right), as well as another suggestive snap showing himself in bed with Pretty Little Liars star Keegan Allen.
During an interview on The Late Show With David Letterman last night (May 8), the 36-year-old actor was quizzed about his Instagram pictures.
“To me it’s just a fun thing – it’s something that I don’t put a lot of thought into but it gets a lot of attention; I have a lot of followers on Instagram,” Franco replied.
“It’s not like I’m putting it on billboards. Instagram is for my fans, but now the bloggers are following me on there so they’ll just take it and use it as they want.”
Letterman then described Franco’s near-naked photo as “provocative”, to which Franco replied: “I didn’t ask you to look at it; it’s what the people want!”
The chat show host countered, jokingly: “Why is my fault now? I had nothing to do with it.”
“If you don’t want to see it, don’t follow me!” came the reply from Franco.
