The trailer for Ryan Murphy’s new series The Politician has been released.
The first season – which is set to join Netflix on September 27 – follows wealthy student Payton Hobart (Ben Platt) who has known since he was seven that he is going to be the President of the United States.
But first he has to navigate through the political landscape of Saint Sebastian High School.
He will have to outsmart his ruthless classmates to get elected Student Body President and secure a spot at Harvard.
The stellar cast includes the legend Jessica Lange – who has worked with Murphy in American Horror Story and Feud – Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoey Deutch, Lucy Boynton, Bob Balaban, David Corenswet, Julia Schlaepfer, Laura Dreyfuss, Theo Germaine, Rahne Jones and Benjamin Barrett.
The Politician marks Murphy’s first Netflix series and the streaming giant has already commissioned two seasons.
